Privacy
Last updated: November 2026. Lingosu is a browser extension that helps you learn languages while you browse. This page explains what it stores and what it sends.
Stored in your browser
Your settings, saved words, progress, streaks and game scores are stored in your browser.
Sent to other services
- Translation and dictionary lookups. To translate a word or sentence, Lingosu sends that text and the language pair to translation and dictionary services.
- Audio. Voices are prepared the first time you use them. If a voice is not available, a word you ask to hear may be sent to a text-to-speech service.
- Accounts. If you sign in, we store your email address, which Premium licences are linked to it, and the random identifier of each computer you use. We email you a one-time sign-in code. There are no passwords.
- Premium. Payments are handled by Freemius. Our server checks your licence to unlock Premium content and certificates. If you request a certificate, the name you type is stored so the certificate can be verified.
What Lingosu does not do
Lingosu does not sell your data and does not show ads. It reads the text of a page only to swap words on the page you are looking at.
Deleting your data
Write to us and we will delete your account and the data linked to it.
